Under generalsupervision, performs a variety of cleaning and custodial dutiesincluding daily cleaning and supplying of bathrooms, offices andother assigned areas in accordance with standard procedures. Usescleaning devices such as wet mops, wringers, duster, vacuum cleanerand other necessary tools, products and supplies. Removes trash toappropriate areas. Dust furniture, walls, machines, andequipment.
ESSENTIALDUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Empties waste baskets and removestrash.
2.Dusts surfaces that collectdust.
3.Vacuums carpeted floorsurfaces.
4.Damp wipes and cleansfurniture.
5.Cleans walls, windows and polishes metalsurfaces.
6.Cleans and polishes metal surfaces and porcelain fixtures inbathrooms.
7.Replenishes restroom consumablesupplies.
8.Dry and wet mops hard-surfacefloors.
9.Maintains and stocks janitorial closet at alltimes.
10.Picks up trash on a regular schedule during the shift or as neededfor special pickups.
11.Ensures that equipment is kept clean and reports any malfunctionsor safety hazards to thesupervisor.
12.Follows established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners andpower equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors andfixtures.
13.Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to preparecleaning solutions, according tospecifications.
14.Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additionsto building operatingsystems.
15.Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning andmaintenanceduties.
16.Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water orother cleaners, sponges, andsqueegees.
17.Responds to special requests from manager or customer for specialevents or other extra cleaningrequirements.

1.Understand and speak English to communicate and interacteffectively with supervisor, co-workers andcustomers.

2.Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and armsabove shoulder level, lift up to 60pounds.
3.Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for thetask, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts,etc.
WORKENVIRONMENT:
1.Employees are responsible for performing their duties in anenvironment that is free from discrimination, intimidation,coercion or harassment, including sexualharassment.
2.Work may be performed indoors, outdoors orboth.
3.As part of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to dirt,dust, disinfectants, solvents or cleaningchemicals.
4.Noise level may be low to high depending on the equipmentused.
5.The employee may be required to report to more than one work sitein a givenshift.
6.The employee must at all times adhere to the company’sand work site’s safety and environmental protectionpractices by performing work safely and in accordance withestablished standards.
